How big of a cake should I order? I don't want to run out, but I don't to have a lot left over.
Remember that not every guest will have a piece of cake. So it is fine to get a cake to serve about 10% fewer people than you expect at your reception. What's the most popular flavor? By far, the white almond cake with raspberry buttercream filling is the MOST popular wedding cake flavor! Classic Vanilla is also simply delicious! It is dense and buttery with a rich vanilla essence, always made with 100% pure vanilla. This is a crowd-pleaser for sure. Red Velvet Chip cake is an extremely popular choice for an alternative flavor. Can you make every tier a different flavor? Yes! Most of my brides choose multiple flavors for their wedding cakes. Do you freeze your cakes ahead of time? No. Quality is as equally important as the appearance! I bake every cake fresh a few days ahead of your wedding day to ensure the freshest, moistest cake possible. I'm looking for the "WOW" factor when people see our wedding cake. Can you do that? Absolutely. I love doing bold colors and designs. Fondant is a medium that allows very creative designs. You will find some examples in the gallery. If you can dream it, I can probably make it happen. Let's talk! |
Why do people order Groom's cakes?
This is usually a gift from the Bride to her Groom. It is a fun cake, and the theme is all about the Groom's interests. Note: Groom's cakes are only available when also ordering your wedding cake from me. Very limited availability for groom's cakes due to volume of wedding cakes, but please ask :) Why do people freeze the top tier? Does it even taste good after a year? It's called an anniversary tier and this tradition will have you two reminiscing about your wonderful wedding day and your first year as a married couple. The majority of my couples choose to save their top tier. And yes, if preserved properly, it will taste great! How much do you charge? It depends on several factors -- size, fondant or buttercream, and amount of details in the design. I can't give you a price until we discuss details. Cakes usually start at $5-6 per serving and range from $350-$1200. *Additional costs include delivery/set-up, state and local taxes and optional cake stand rental. There is a $400 minimum on wedding orders. It doesn't cost you anything to get a quote, so please ask! How do I book you for my cake? You must first have a date and venue booked. Next, email me with the following details: date, venue, guest count, your cell phone number and any ideas you may have. Including inspiration photos is a good way to help me see your vision. If I am available, I will schedule you for a cake tasting/design appointment. After receiving a written quote, you can choose to book by paying a 50% non-refundable, non-transferrable deposit and signing the contract. Dates cannot be held without a deposit. FYI - I am only taking orders for Weddings now. No longer doing birthday, shower, graduation, etc cakes simply due to the high demand of wedding cakes year-round. |
